A little about the ingredients:
Ashwagandha is also known as Indian ginseng, poison gooseberry, or winter cherry and is a plant in the nightshade family. It's classified as an "adaptogen," meaning that it can help your body manage stress. It's a powerful herb used in Ayurvedic healing. It is most well-known for its restorative and rejuvenating benefits. In Sanskrit ashwagandha means “the smell of a horse,” meaning the herb has the potential to provide the strength of a stallion. It has classically been used in India for nearly 5,000 years for conditions such as failure to thrive in children, weakness and debility in old age, rheumatism, constipation, insomnia, nervous conditions, stress, goiter, joint inflammation, parasites, hormone balance, and more.

Turmeric is the spice that gives curry its yellow color and it's why our mix is so vibrant. It has been used in India for thousands of years as a spice and medicinal herb. Curcumin is the main active ingredient in turmeric. It has powerful anti-inflammatory effects and is a very strong antioxidant. Unfortunately, curcumin is poorly absorbed into the bloodstream. It helps to consume black pepper with it, which contains piperine, a natural substance that enhances the absorption of curcumin. Thus the reason Black Pepper is in the mix as well.

Curcumin is also fat soluble which is why Organic Coconut Milk was added.

Another favorable ingredient is Ginger Root. It's not only tasty, but it's full of health benefits. Ginger has a very long history of use in various forms of traditional/alternative medicine. It is a flowering plant that originated from China. The rhizome is the part used as the spice. It has been used to help digestion, reduce nausea and help fight the flu and common cold, to name a few. Gingerol is the main bioactive compound in ginger, responsible for much of its medicinal properties. It has powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects.

How do you enjoy it? Whisk about half a teaspoon teaspoon in 8 ounces of warm milk, coffee or smoothie. A little goes a long way. Add a touch of honey or maple syrup and enjoy.
